Istanbul: Boat Cruise w/ Snacks & Anadolu Hisarı Visit

Discover the Bosphorus like never before with our exclusive small-group cruise with snacks, multilingual audio guide, and one hour to explore the hidden fortress of Anadolu Hisarı at your own pace.

Step aboard for a unique small-group cruise and discover the Bosphorus as you've never seen it before. This 3.5-hour journey offers perfect blend of sightseeing, cultural discovery, and relaxation—set against the stunning backdrop of Istanbul’s legendary shores.

Your experience begins at Kabataş, where you’ll embark on a comfortable boat with a limited number of guests to ensure a calm and intimate atmosphere. As you glide along the European side of the Bosphorus, marvel at Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks: Dolmabahçe Palace, Çırağan Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, and the Bosphorus Bridge.

Using our multilingual mobile audio guide (available in 9 languages), you can listen to the history and stories behind the scenery as you go—right from your own phone, with your own pace.

After passing under the Second Bosphorus Bridge, the boat crosses to the Asian side and docks at the historical Anadolu Hisarı—a charming riverside fortress dating back to the Ottoman era. Here, you’ll have one full hour of free time to explore the area, wander the old streets, and take in views from the fortress itself.

Sail to the narrowest point of the Bosphorus and step into a place where history shaped the fate of empires. Built by Sultan Bayezid I in 1393–1394, Anadolu Fortress was the first major Ottoman foothold in Istanbul—designed to block aid to the Byzantines and take control of the strategic Bosphorus waters. Later, Sultan Mehmed II completed this military vision by building Rumeli Fortress on the opposite shore, creating the iron grip that led to the legendary Conquest of Constantinople in 1453.

As one of Istanbul’s oldest surviving Ottoman structures, Anadolu Fortress is more than just stone walls—it's a gateway into a turning point in world history. Stroll through the restored remains, enjoy sweeping views of the Bosphorus, and let your imagination roam where soldiers once stood guard.

The surrounding Anadolu Hisarı neighborhood is just as captivating. Once a quiet Ottoman town of soldiers, wooden waterfront mansions, and imperial fountains, today it remains one of Istanbul’s most peaceful and scenic districts. Located beside the tranquil Göksu Creek, it was once a favorite escape for poets and artists during the Tulip Era. Now, it’s your turn to walk its historic paths, take unforgettable photos, and experience Istanbul where history meets nature.

The journey continues along the Asian shoreline, where you'll see impressive waterfront mansions, lush hillsides, and landmarks like the Kuleli Military High School and Beylerbeyi Palace. As you approach the heart of the Bosphorus once again, you’ll sail past the romantic Maiden’s Tower before returning to Kabataş.

To complement the experience, light snacks are served onboard—perfect for enjoying the view with a taste of Turkish hospitality.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning explorer, this cruise offers a peaceful, informative, and memorable way to experience Istanbul from both sides of the strait.
